PURE MAGNESIUM
Magnesium has a mechanical strength/weight ratio that is the best among all the metals in common use, thus allowing to obtain fine thicknesses and a final product characterized by its lightness. It is more rigid than aluminum and plastics. It also has a high thermal conductivity. It is malleable and becomes pliable if heated. In fact, it has ideal fusion properties; it can be modeled in wide elements with thin walls, and reworking is rarely necessary. Quick melting and cooling, magnesium ensures high fusion values, mold duration and low working costs (the recycling of the high-quality scraps of the high-pressure die-casting is decisive). It has excellent flowing properties and can also be thixoformed just like plastic can be modeled by injection. Low corrosion resistance and high reactivity determine its use as an alloy. Magnesium is non-allergenic and, in the pure state, does not contain nickel.
