NICKEL TITANIUM
The Nickel – Titanium shape-memory alloy, like all shape-memory alloys, is capable of experiencing a state of pseudo-permanent deformation which can then be eliminated by means of a thermal process. It possesses a compound, in fact, that can be electrically activated by the Joule effect: when an electrical current crosses it, it generates sufficient heat to induce the phase transformation. The transformation T is generally greater than the ambient T. In addition to the property of thermal reversibility of deformations, it has superelastic behavior and the ability to generate large forces during shape recovery.With this alloy it is possible to produce frames for glasses with exceptional properties of plastic deformation resistance and that, at the same time, are particularly comfortable to wear.
