PURE TITANIUM (ASTM CP)
Titanium has specific characteristics that render it an ideal material for the production of eyewear. The commercially pure titanium is composed of 99.5% titanium. Titanium has a very favorable mechanical strength/weight ratio, thus allowing to obtain fine thicknesses and a final product characterized by lightness (a frame produced in titanium is approximately 2/3 times lighter than a metal or steel frame), a relatively low elastic modulus and high corrosion resistance. Therefore, it is the ideal material for the production of frames destined for those who have a particularly acid pH of the skin or for people who live outdoors, especially in salty environments, or for those who work with chemical substances.
