POLYETHERIMIDE (PEI)
Polyetherimide (PEI) is an amorphous thermoplastic with a glass transition temperature (216°C) with properties similar to the ones of polyetherketone (PEEK) but with lower costs, thermal stability and impact properties. PEI can be attacked be halogenated solvents, causing stress cracking. Its most important applications are in medical and chemical fields (possibility of prolonged use at 170°C).
