THERMAL METALLIZATION
The sublimation and condensation (deposition) on a substrate of a thin metal film (generally aluminum) at low pressure is usually called thermal metallization. Generally in order to obtain a metal deposition the preparation of a flat and insulating base surface is required, also to increase the adhesion of outer metallic layers and of a possible external transparent layer. Very gloss and reflecting surfaces can be obtained, with a metallic aspect but also with the possibility to obtain different colors. Main applications are: headlights for cars, electronics, electromagnetic shielding, car wheels, decorative objects, car interiors and trimming, toys, jewelry, etc.
