PROTECTIVE POLYMER COATING
A surface treatment involving of a series of polymers used as a protective polymer coating on various substrates (metal, glass, paper, resin, plastic, ceramic and silicone). It is deposited by means of a vacuum deposition process at room temperature with pressure approximately 0.1 torr. The deposition is not sensitive to the object’s geometry and produces a completely uniform deposit with a deposition speed of approximately 5µm/h. It is biocompatible and non-porous. An inert and transparent coating is produced that acts as a barrier to oxygen, humidity, chemical agents, solvents, and corrosive vapors. It is thermally stable between -200°C and 150°C and works as an excellent insulator. It has a low coefficient of friction and excellent adhesion properties, and it is hydrophobic. The entire process occurs at room temperature, thus producing less stress that could cause cracks. Once hardened, it has greater shear strength, hardness and abrasion resistance.
